Long Preston Heritage Group Events
(see below for details of AGM 2018)

On November 11, Long Preston together with the rest of the country will be commemorating the end of World War 1. This will be with a service at the War Memorial on the Village Green at noon. Also, at 7pm, a beacon will be lit on Beacon Coppy which is up the old road to Settle.

During November, as part of the  commemorations,  LPHG have erected on Maypole Green crosses for each of the 15 soldiers who died in the war.As well as this, Moraig Hewitt and villagers from Long Preston and Hellifield have crocheted and erected the poppy display on the fountain opposite Maypole Green.

There is also a display of photographs in the St Mary's Church.

Notification of the Annual General Meeting

To be held on Monday 12 November 2018 at 7.30pm in the Village Hall.
The AGM will be followed by a slide show featuring selected items
from the Robert Slater Collection showing Long Preston over the decades.
